Minimalist Nativity Set and Controversy

I’m a huge Christmas and holiday fanatic. I have many decorations that are perfect for my home, yet the one thing that is always missing from my house is the minimalist nativity set. For whatever reason, I just never thought of buying one for myself. It was only when I saw an ad for it on TV did I realize how important a minimalist nativity set is. And since I live in Utah where the Christmas holiday is celebrated in the winter, I realized it would make a great accent piece for my home.

Why I Didn’t Care About Minimalist Nativity Set?

I admit that when I was a kid, I didn’t care for minimalist nativity sets. Because of this, I felt it was a waste of money. However, I also realized at that age that there’s nothing really minimalist about nativity scenes – they’re simply cribs for screaming babies. And, well, I realized it too, because they’re white.

Why Should You I Buy Minimalist Nativity Set?

Now, I’ve come to realize that it’s not necessarily a bad thing to buy a minimalist nativity set. In fact, I think it’s a fabulous idea. It just comes down to what you personally want for your Christmas nativity scene. Here are some things to keep in mind though when shopping for a minimalist nativity set:

What Sort of Decoration I Should Choose?

If you love religious paintings or sculptures, then chances are you will love minimalist nativity sets as well. Some collections feature religious art from all over the world with a nativity scene theme. Others are all about Mary and Joseph or a manger scene. There are even ones that include religious music.

Are you looking for sturdy frames for your nativity scene?

With minimalist nativity sets, this is very easy to achieve. Sets that are made of solid wood or sturdy plastic often fit very well into a decorative nativity cabinet. But if you’re after a more stable frame, look for pieces that are made of metal.

Do you want more than one piece of artwork?

If so, this can easily be done with many types of nativity puzzles. Usually, the puzzles have a stable frame to hold several puzzle pieces – which gives you endless options as to how the puzzle pieces fit together.

Buying First Minimalist Nativity Set

A word of advice: Don’t buy your first nativity set from a furniture store. Always buy your pieces from online retailers with a good reputation. This way, you can be sure that the piece you’ve purchased is the real deal, and that the retailer stands behind its products enough to refund or replace them if they’re faulty.

Is Minimalist Nativity Set Ideal For Everyone?

A minimalist nativity set may not be ideal for everyone. If you feel a bit overwhelmed by the sheer size of some of the pieces, or if you want something a bit more traditional, there are still pieces available that suit your tastes. A good place to start is with a nativity scene nativity set from a furniture store. You’ll probably also want to try out a few nativity sets in other stores – you might find that some of them are too plain or ordinary. The key is to make sure that whatever you end up choosing suits your taste, that it’s actually right for your house, and that it will last long enough to make you happy for years to come!

Traditional Nativity Set & Catholics

You may be tempted to go for a more traditional nativity set. After all, the Catholic Church made its own nativity sets hundreds of years ago, and they look pretty fantastic! But do they actually work? Would it look weird to have a nativity set with no figures, for example? Thankfully, the answer is a strong yes.

Why? Because many people associate the Catholic Church with icons, and their minimalist nativity sets are often very beautiful pieces. They don’t have figures, but they do feature religious music and artwork, which are fine. But they’re also very traditional. When you mix that with modern elements, such as geometric shapes and shiny fabrics, you get a modern set that looks very Catholic, without looking out of touch. It’s one of the best things about a minimalist nativity set – it’s easy to combine old-fashioned beauty with contemporary style, making something that’s genuinely unique.

But if you’re Catholic, why not choose something different? Look for a more whimsical set. There are lots of lovely sets out there that feature animals in funny outfits. penguins with feet, lions in long coats, elephants playing baseball… Who says a traditional nativity set has to be ugly? With the right minimalist nativity set design, you can make it look like it was created by the Catholic Church – while still remaining very much Christian.
